Every sign is cut from a solid slab of steel. The size in inches you choose represents the size of the slab your sign is cut from. Therefore, the size you choose stands for length of the longest side of the sign, and is about an inch shorter in order to fit within the slab of metal. Every sign varies in sizing slightly.
